Organization meeting for film
series held
On organizational meeting will be held at noon on Monday, May 5 in CLO 314 to plan for next fall's International Film Series. If you would like to present a film next semester or are interested in contributing your ideas for movie themes or titles, please plan to attend. Open forum of CGT students
The School of Technology will hold an Open Forum for students in the Computer Graphics Technology program on Wednesday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. in the Gyte building, Room 103. The Open Forum will discuss the CGT program and its goals for the future, as well as address concerns and answer questions.
Stress free week
Stree free week is April 28 to May 2. Relax before finals with a free movie and popcorn. "Wild Hogs" will be playing in the Calumet Falls TV room on Monday, April 28. Approximate movies times are 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The event is brought to you by Student Activities.
Free HIV/AIDS testing
Know your status. The Aliveness Project and The Black Student?Union will be hosting free testing for HIV/AIDS. It will be held on April 28 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. in SUL 305.
A forum on New Orleans
The Social Justice Club will be a hosting a forum for students to listen to the experiences of volunteers who helped while in New Orleans.
Questions that will be answered include the current state of New Orleans in 2008, who was devastated the most by Hurrican Katrina, if they are they receiving any help from the local, state, or federal governmend and if residents of New Orleans still struggling.
The forum will be held in Calumet Falls at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.
The state of college mental health
The state of mental health on college campuses continues to evolve and influence our campus policies. A 90-minute audio conference will be held on April 29 from 1p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in SUL 301.
Topics to be discussed include:?what lessons the mental health community has learned in thepast year, best practices that are being deployed on campuses today, effective ways to use campus alter teams and threat assessment teams for the benefit of students and the campus community.
New fall 2008 course
The Counseling Center is now providing students with the means to connect college to career in a new fall 2008 course. Career and Life Planning Seminar and Lab (two credit hours, open to all?juniors and seniors regardless of their major) is a course taught by two counselors at the?Counseling Center, who have extensive education, experience and knowledge on career development.
