If you're looking for some of the best Italian cuisine in town (and even worth comparing to that of The Cheesecake Factory or Chef Joel's in Highland) cruise by Livio's Restaurant and Bar in St. John.
This dimly-lit establishment gives a wealthy, yet relaxable feel to its atmosphere - a restaurant suitable not only for adults but for families as well. Near the entrance stands the hostess who may direct you towards your choice to their exquisite bar (located to the left) or to the right, behind the glass door where the large, center dining area is.
Once selecting the seating area, start off your meal with an appetizer- preferably the calamari, baked and breaded rather than fried. If not, opt for Livio's cheese stix- costing only $5.25 (which aren't too special and I recommend trying something different).
Winning the award for best dishes on the menu go to the gourmet pizza (starting at $8.95 for a medium cheese, $9.95 for medium sausage), pastas (especially stuffed shells with ricotta and parmesan cheese) and full-slab of delicious, sweet and tangy ribs. Yet Livio's chicken fettuccine alfredo wins the best plate on the menu- grilled, rich chicken with delicious flavor-filled alfredo sauce mixed to perfection will make your taste buds water.
Though pastas are their specialty, Livio's offers sandwiches including Italian beef, subs and steak sandwiches starting at $5.95. Seafood selections include Lake Perch and fried shrimp- a bit too greasy for shrimp but nonetheless edible.
