The Red Sox and Rockies are reportedly in trade-talks that would send 1B Todd Helton to Boston. Helton is owed $90.1 million over the next six years and this trade would clear some money up for the Rockies. Lets see how many home runs Helton can hit when he's not in that Denver thin air.
The Minnesota Twins still have not signed arbitration eligible Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, and Michael Cuddyer. What can they possibly be waiting for? Morneau was MVP, Mauer batting champ, and Cuddyer just a great bat. Without those guys the Twins will go nowhere.
The White Sox signed IF/OF Darin Erstad last week. Erstad can expect to see some time with Scott Podsednik recently having groin surgery as well as rotating in centerfield with Brian Anderson.
The Cubs signed OF Cliff Floyd last week to a one-year deal. Floyd will likely start in leftfield and share that spot with Matt Murton. Floyd should give the Cubs another power bat, but don't look for the Cubs in the playoffs, they'll come up short.

On Saturday Bulls center Ben Wallace suffered a hyper extended knee late in the fourth quarter against the Heat. The Bulls are optimistic and hope that Wallace will return soon. Without Wallace the Bulls are a much more vulnerable team.
The All-Star game starters were announced last week. Of the starters, Shaq made the squad. Shaq has hardly played a game this year and has no place on the team. Apparently the fans don't realize the year Dwight Howard is having with the Magic.
Last Saturday Knicks guard Jamal Crawford scored 15 points including a streak of 16 straight shots. It seems like almost any player that is traded from a Chicago sports team turns out to be an all-star.
NFL
Joe Gibbs has reportedly interviewed for the Dallas Cowboys Head Coach position. If Gibbs gets the job it will lead to his retirement after a season with Terrell Owens.
Colts QB Peyton Manning's thumb is fine after hurting it in the AFC championship game. Manning is going to have more than his thumb to worry about when he faces the Bears defense.
Bengal's WR Chris Henry was released from jail last week after letting minors drink in a hotel room. Henry was the ninth Bengal's player to be arrested in the last nine months. What a great example these players are setting for kids.
The San Diego Charger's promoted running-back coach Clarence Shelmon to offensive coordinator replacing Cam Cameron. Shelmon has one of the easiest jobs with Ladanian Tomlinson on has offense.
